The Struggle for Food Sovereignty: Liberating the Land + Ourselves
1/2 sized ⦁ 8 pages
From the creator: “This zine breaks down the definition and importance of food sovereignty for a liberated world. Through the struggle for food sovereignty, we return and restore Indigenous lands and ways of being, protect our cultural heritages, and ensure that no one goes hungry. The struggle for food sovereignty is both communal and personal - for me, it means healing generational wounds and honoring ancestral knowledge. Everything goes back to the land.”
❁All proceeds will go towards CESBA Kenya (Community Empowerment through Biointensive Agriculture)❁
CESBA is a locally-run organization that works with smallholder farmers in Nairobi and Kajiado Counties to equip them with skills on how to address food insecurity issues brought about by poor and unsustainable farming practices and climate change. CESBA also works on creating more food sufficient and resilient households through economic strengthening strategies and sustainable ecological food raising systems. Currently, CESBA is fundraising to launch a chicken coop project.
